Kettner
The traditional company Kettner, specialized in the production of hunting weapons, was founded in 1884 in Cologne, and initially had three stores in Germany. Over the past decades, the company has been expanded enormously.
Kettner Austria now is an independent company with 12 countrywide stores, two stores in Croatia and a central online shop. The product range still includes hunting weapons, but also fashion (hunting & traditional costume) as well as everything around a complementary and high-quality hunting equipment.
In order to support existing stores and to reach those customers who prefer to order online, Kettner Austria has chosen a state-of-the-art online shop based on Magento.
Customers should not only benefit from a comfortable and trouble-free shopping experience, but also receive accurate information on availability in order to decide for an online or offline purchase.
Further Kettner planned a complete relaunch of the online shop based on a more modern and responsive design.

The new online shop kettner.com supplies its customers all over Austria, but also worldwide with a wide range of products. In order to reach consumers on many different channels, Kettner decided for a multi-channel strategy. Click & Collect allows visitors to check stock live, order it and pick up their goods at one of the stores in Austria. The reverse way equally is possible, as well as the possibility to return products.
Based on Magento CE1, the B2C shop is connected to Microsoft NAV 6.0 SP1 in order to request inventory and exchange order data constantly.
In cooperation with PHOENIX MEDIA Austria the online shop was reworked in 2016. Now users can enjoy a complete new design. Because of the increasing number of customers, that use mobile devices the presentation and usability of kettner.com were adjusted to their specific needs in order to enable a seamless shopping experience.
By hosting and performance monitoring as well as optimization PHOENIX MEDIA supervises the e-commerce solution of kettner.com also on server side. Additionally the functionality and usability of the online-shop underlies a permanent technical development.
