On June 27th it was finally that time again: The Magento Stammtisch was taking place. This time in sunny Vienna at the PHOENIX MEDIA Austria office. With delicious appetizers, cold drinks and good company from people of the Magento Community, we had the perfect setting to talk about exciting e-commerce topics in a relaxed atmosphere.
Kevin Haug - The next generation of B2B business
The first speaker of the evening was Kevin Haug, Solutions Consultant for Adobe Commerce. He joined online from Berlin to give an outlook of new trends in B2B commerce. In his everyday work, Kevin accompanies well-known B2C and B2B companies in their transformation into the digital world of e-commerce and, thanks to his experience, he understands how to best harmonize customer requirements and their visions with the capabilities of Adobe Commerce. In recent years he has observed that B2B e-commerce is now growing faster than B2C e-commerce. The pandemic of the past few years has made a major contribution to this and also underlined the relevance of successful shopping experiences. In contrast, personal interactions in the B2B sales process are not as relevant anymore as they used to be.
Find out which new developments and functions Adobe Commerce is using to position itself at the top of the e-commerce platforms by watching the complete presentation video. We have made this available for you on YouTube.
Richard Rohrig - Frontend drives customer experience
Richard Rohrig is a Developer Experience Engineer at Vue Storefront and is currently leading the construction of a Magento 2 Storefront using Vue Storefront's Magento SDK and Storefront UI 2. He gave interesting insights on the "frontend-first" approach of Vue Storefront and told the story of Sam, a carpenter, who was commissioned by the mayor to produce enough chairs to seat all residents at the next town festival.
In his recorded talk you can find out how Sam could fulfill this task with the help of his friend Benjamin and how this story is related to e-commerce projects. You can also delve even deeper into Vue Storefront's unique blend of headless, composable commerce, open source UI libraries and efficient API orchestration.
Konrad Androsch - Clustering: Redis & Magento
The last lecture of the evening dealt with the topic of clustering and how Redis and Magento optimizations can ensure high performance and availability. It also outlined common pitfalls that can slow down e-commerce stores.
Konrad Androsch, DevOps Engineer at internex, takes care of the setup, operation and maintenance of cluster systems in the e-commerce environment on a daily basis. With this know-how, he showed how Redis Sentinel can be used to scale a single Redis node to a multi-node cluster for automatic failover scenarios. The full video is also available on YouTube.
